Fraser Jonker
Chairman
Fraser was appointed Chairman of EcoGas Limited Partnership in addition to his role as CEO of Pioneer Energy Group. He brings not only his local and international general management experience to both Ecogas and Pioneer, but also more than twenty years of experience in electrical engineering, construction, maintenance and asset management.
Fraser is committed to growing Pioneer Energy Group and it’s subsidiaries and partnerships in a sustainable manner, forming sound relationships and prudent business investments.
Stuart Walker
Stuart has a diverse career background and can claim to have literally worked at all ends of the Food & Feed industry from pasture to plate.
After 15 years in the animal health/nutrition and veterinary sectors, Stuart was one of 4 Directors who successfully setup Momentum Consulting Group in 1996. Stuart was then appointed Managing Director of the Hansells Food Group from 1999-2006. During this time Stuart also served on the Board of the Food & Grocery Council (FGC).
Stuart now owns 2 food companies Carroll Industries – NZ’s only manufacturer of 100’s & 1,000’s (Toppings & Inclusions) and Extrusion Co one of New Zealand’s largest manufacturers of bread & coating crumbs.
Stuart was the Acting CEO (2011-2012) during the establishment phase for ‘The FoodBowl’ as part of a $20m investment initiative sponsored by local and central government in promoting new food technologies to the industry.
Stuart contines to consult to numerous food and nonfood business over the last 14 years including a very close association with Ecostock Supplies a key LP partner in Ecogas.
Karen Titulaer
Karen has worked internationally in strategy, partnership, sustainability and risk roles. Working for the Royal Bank of Scotland during the global financial crisis highlighted for Karen the link between long-term business viability and sustainable decision making.
While leading the Legal, Risk and Sustainability teams at Villa Maria Estate Ltd, Karen chaired the Glass Packaging Forum Committee. From there she developed a passion for the role of product stewardship in a circular economy. Karen now chairs the Paint Product Stewardship Working Group and is strategic adviser to EcoStock Supplies Limited among other circular economy focused organisations.
Grant Smith
Grant is an energy market advisor, specialising in commercial and electricity market developments with an emphasis on clean energy and carbon emissions management.
His experience in the electricity industry covers most parts of the value chain. His specific skillsets are combining innovative change concepts with the more practical and pragmatic business planning disciplines.
Grant has provided commercial guidance to Ecogas Limited Partnership through the initial Limited Partnership set-up and technology due diligence processes as well as supporting the preparation of the investment business cases, market and funding proposals resulting in securing government regional development loans for Reporoa Project.
He continues to provide commercial and market contracting oversight to Ecogas Limited Partnership in his role as board member.
Tony Balfour
Tony has extensive global experience in a diverse range of industries and geographies. His executive experience includes senior roles at Nike, Lion Nathan, Icebreaker and Seek.com in NZ, Australia and USA.
He has been a director on the Boards of Silver Fern Farms, Methven Industries, Mt Difficulty Wines and Blis Technologies. He is currently an independent director on the Boards of The Warehouse Group, Les Mills International, and RealNZ.
